AN ‘INCREDIBLE’ day was enjoyed by a brave trio who completed the gruelling London Marathon.

Claire Cobden, a PE teacher from Lavant House School, teamed up with mum Jane and sister Lisa to run the 26 miles in the nation’s capital.

‘Team Wicko’ took part to support The Lymphoma Assocation, after friend Geoff Wickens was diagnosed with the disease, and the Youth Sports Trust.

Funds are still coming in and the ladies have already raised an impressive £4,253.

“The whole day was incredible. The support from the crowds was phenomenal and at certain parts you could barely hear yourself think, they were so loud,” said Claire.

“I split away from my mum and sister at 13 miles to run and although it was lonely, the crowds kept me going and I did not walk once. I completed the race in four hours and 33 minutes,” added Claire.

Jane and Lisa completed the endurance test in under five hours.

“It has been a fantastic experience of highs and lows but it was all worth it. We have our medals and a memory that we will treasure forever.”
