Police are asking for information about a motorcycle crash which took place on the A27 near Chichester at 6.25pm yesterday (Thursday, September 22).
The grey Yamaha 749cc motorcycle was being ridden west by a man aged 40 from Havant, when it struck the central reservation and went over on to the eastbound carriageway at Hambrook.
The rider was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital at Cosham with serious leg and arm injuries.
Police said the man’s injuries had not been assessed as life threatening.
No other vehicle was involved.
A Sussex Police spokesman said; “As a result of the crash the A27 was closed in both directions for more than three hours whilst the rider was taken to hospital and the scene was examined and cleared.
“We are grateful for the patience and understanding of drivers during this time. Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact us via 0845 60 70 999 quoting serial 1400 of 22 September.”
