Motorcycling club supports children's centre

The club is now entering its fourth decade and continues to actively promote an interest in classic machines while raising money for a local children’s charity each year.

This year’s events were brought to a close with a ’60s Night, where the club presented a cheque for £3,000 to Dorothy Calderwood, executive officer at Kamelia Kids Children’s Centre in Worthing, and her colleagues.

Malcolm Walter, social secretary, said: “The smiles in the photograph show just how much it was appreciated.

“Once the presentation had been made, members continued to dance the night away to local live band The Diamonds.

“Keen to balance the public perception of bikers, the club attends many of the local shows and promotes two charity runs annually. Members are always on hand to discuss the merits, or otherwise, of their machines.”

Visitors and prospective new members are welcome to attend the Monday meetings at Clymping Village Hall, 8pm to 10pm.

Next year, the newly-renovated British Engineerium in Hove will be the start and finish for the club’s first charity run, on April 23, 2017, with this fantastic facility fired up for the day.
