Napping couple awake to find stranger in their home

A COUPLE in their 90s were dozing in their living room only to wake up and discover an intruder.

Sussex Police has appealed for information after the incident on Wednesday afternoon (January 7).

The force said it is believed he was trying to steal from the house in Prinsted Lane, Prinsted.

A spokesman said: “The residents, a couple who are both in their 90s, were napping in their living room in Prinsted Lane, Prinsted, overlooking the seafront, at 3pm on Wednesday, January 7, when the woman woke to find a man in the house.

“He left when he saw her and nothing appears to have been moved, damaged or stolen.

“He is described as brown skinned, with an oval face, in his twenties and wearing all-brown clothing.”

Detective constable Pippa Hannard said: “This is a very popular area for walkers, and we would like to hear from anyone who was in the area on Wednesday afternoon and saw anything suspicious.
