There was plenty of noise coming from St Peter’s Church Hall in Selsey as young children and toddlers learnt how to play some musical instruments.

Sally Paice, who runs music classes for under-fives during school term-time, organised the event as part of the Selsey Festival.

She said: “There were lots of families, more than the last two years.

“I have run musical classes for a number of years.

“We break for the holidays and have a one-off event at the Selsey Festival to give people something to do.”

Tambourines, claves and bells were used by the children to create as noisy an atmosphere as they could muster.

“It was quite noisy. We started at 9.30am and finished by about 11am for refreshments. After that the children danced to some music including the hokey cokey.”
