CARING for carers is the theme of an open day tomorrow (Thursday, June 13).
To celebrate Carers Week, which started on Monday (June 10) and runs until Sunday (June 16), Guardian Angel Carers is holding a Care for Carers day.
There will be free tea, coffee and cakes and information on care in the area for carers and their families.
“Caring can be a very rewarding experience, but it can also be very demanding,” said Christina Bassadone from Guardian Angel Carers.
“That’s why we’ve organised this open day to help give carers a bit of a break but most importantly, celebrate their role and give them some support by offering free advice and guidance.”
Open from 11am to 4pm, the open day will be held at Guardian Angel Carers office, Houseboat The Bees, at Chichester Marina.
It will offer carers a chance to access support and information.
A number of professional carers, nurses and managers will be available to answer carers’ questions.
Anyone who would like to book a dedicated appointment with one of the staff should call 01243 216416 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The campaign for this year’s Carers Week is Prepared to Care?
It will focus on how the UK’s current carer population is coping, how effectively government is supporting the growing numbers of carers and whether the wider population is prepared for future caring responsibilities.
