A PROGRAMME to improve drainage in areas hit by flooding has reached the halfway stage.
Under West Sussex County Council’s Operation Watershed, £2.5m has been assigned for drainage improvements on the highway.
So far, £521,025 has already been spent on 56 schemes.
Another 47 schemes are expected to be completed by early next year.
Work to the following areas has been completed in the Chichester area:
Birdham: Church Road, £2,000, Springfield Close, £7,500;
Bosham: Delling Lane, £12,000, Newells Lane, £20,000, Smugglers Lane (Taylor Lane), £3,000, Stumps Lane, £10,000;
Chichester: Appledram Lane North, £35,000, Brandyhole Lane, £3,000, Fishbourne Road East, £53,900;
Colworth: Colworth Lane, £10,000;
Donnington: The Blacksmith’s Arms, £22,000, Stockbridge Road, £3,000;
Eartham: Brittens Lane, £10,000 and £10,850;
Fishbourne: Fishbourne Road West, £1,800;
Selsey: High Street, £3,600;
Sidlesham: Manhood Lane, £4,500;
Southbourne: A259, £2,460 and £2,000, Thorney Road, £1,000.
