Finding the way to a healthier heart with Chichester District Wellbeing

THIS February is National Heart Month when the British Heart Foundation gets us thinking about how we can take good care of our hearts!

We can help to keep our hearts healthy by being active, (which for adults means doing 150 minutes of moderate-intensity activity each week) and eating healthily (by eating five or more portions of fruit and vegetables each day and keeping foods high in fat or sugar to a minimum).

It’s also important to take into account not smoking, drinking alcohol only in moderation and keeping stress levels as low as possible, because these factors have a big part to play in keeping your heart healthy.

Why not try a healthy heart breakfast to start your day!

It’s a great way to look after your heart and keep your concentration and energy levels up all morning.

Cook porridge oats with water or milk, then stir in half a teaspoon of honey, defrost some frozen berries and spoon on top of your porridge and add a sprinkle of seeds for extra crunch and goodness!

To support National Heart Month, Chichester Wellbeing will be hosting a free Zumba class on Friday, February 21, at 1.30pm at Westgate Leisure Centre in Chichester!
