MOTIVATION, motivation, motivation. That’s what I keep saying to myself – as I sit on my sofa and delay for just a few moments (or days) more.
So apparently it is now spring. The time when we all get out the dusters, declutter and embark on an epic spring clean.
Oh, that sounds like a lot of work and I really don’t have the energy! I need it all just to get through a week of juggling house, children and work.
That is not to say there aren’t any jobs which need doing around the house, because there are.
There are cupboards to clear, shelves to sort, drawers to empty and unused furniture and old baby equipment to sell.
And then on top of that, I really do need to get around to tackling the children’s bedrooms and stealthily sneak away the toys they have outgrown.
But I just don’t have the energy. I don’t feel very ‘springy’ at the moment despite what the season’s name suggests.
Now I do have the perfect excuse for delaying.
I’m absolutely shattered after taking the children away for a little holiday last week.
All that swimming, children’s rides, entertainment and fresh air is so exhausting!
So that is this week’s excuse sorted!
Now all I have to do is think of another for next week.
As I said – motivation, motivation, motivation.
But sooner or later the excuses are going to run out and I’m going to bite the bullet and embark on a spring clean even Kim and Aggie would be proud of.
Boxes will be out, rubber gloves will be at the ready and the computer will be going into overdrive as I sell off all the bits and bobs I no longer need.
Oh crikey, it sounds exhausting even just thinking about it.
Motivation, motivation, motivation.
I know once I start I will go into overdrive and will lose all track of time as I transfer into a spring-cleaning and decluttering demon.
But not right now. Maybe after just one more cup of tea, one more sleep and one more excuse.
