ONLY 12 weeks until summer, a great time to lose weight and get in shape.
It may not feel like it just yet, but summer is only a few months away.
This is the perfect time to think about a healthy eating and exercise plan that will help you to lose a bit of weight and feel great in time for summer.
Did you know that it takes an average of 12 weeks to form a new habit?
That means by sticking to a healthy eating and exercise plan for 12 weeks, it will become habit and not just a diet we dip in and out of.
Losing weight doesn’t need to be complicated.
If you learn to keep an eye on what you’re eating, maybe by writing it down in a food diary, along with exercising regularly, you will find it so much easier.
Planning what you’re going to be having each day will mean you’ll spend less time thinking about food and be less likely to snack on impulse buys.
You’ll probably find you save money, too.
Try eating your meals from a smaller plate or bowl.
Your food will look like a bigger portion, but you’ll actually end up eating less.
And aim to have at least a third of your meal as vegetables so that you fill up on nutritious food that is low in calories.
Did you know it takes about 20 minutes for your stomach to tell your brain that you’re full?
It’s important to eat meals fairly slowly so that your body has time to realise you are full.
And turning off the TV can also help us to concentrate and notice what and how much we are eating.
