A LORRY carrying scrap metal has overturned on the A27.
Sussex Police confirmed officers were called at 9.37am this morning (Wednesday, May 30) following the incident on the A27 Westbound near Norton Lane, between Tangmere and Fontwell, heading towards Chichester.
The driver of the 43-tonne lorry suffered minor injuries and no other people were involved.
One lane of the dual carriageway had to be closed, and will remain closed for quite some time.
The road surface has been left in a poor condition due to scrap metal on the road.
One of the lanes requires temporary repairs and recovery work by the Highways Agency following this morning’s incident.
