ARTISTS are spoilt for choice with two new art courses based in Chichester Harbour this autumn.
Starting on Sunday, September 9 is a two-part workshop with local artist Ysobel Banfield which will be based at the harbour education centre at Dell Quay. Ysobel, whose work reflects a contemporary view of romantic landscape using oils, acrylics and drawing mediums will be helping artists get to grips with the challenges of the harbour landscape with the help of conservancy teacher Jane Latawski. A six-week watercolour course will be starting on Tuesday, September 25 at The Stables on Thorney Island, Emsworth. Artists will get the opportunity to spend three hours a week in a harbour environment working either indoors or out, and help and guidance will be supplied by artist Fran Davies who is also a qualified teacher.
Fran, whose work includes images of boats and birds, said: “As an artist it is a treat to be able to devote a few hours each week to our real interest and really get to know this beautiful area.”
The six-week course is just £60 for all sessions, and the two-week course is £20 for both sessions.
Both art courses are hosted by Chichester Harbour Conservancy.
