PAXO the tortoise and his pals need your help.

He lives at Noah’s Ark Reptile and Animal Rescue Centre in Earnley, one of the many hard-working animal centres caring for the animals that turn up on their doorstep.

Owners Trevor and Becky Beacher announced it would be closing in October this year, and the Observer has decided to launch a campaign to help centres find loving homes for their animals.

Noah’s Ark has to find a loving home for its 500 reptiles and other animals.

The Beachers opened the centre in 2003, but can no longer find enough money to pay for the general running costs of the centre.

The centre in Almodington Lane is asking for a small donation to be made when taking an animal to a new home.

To make an enquiry about rehoming, send an email to the centre at noahs-ark@freeuk.com
