A SERIES of fundraising events for breast cancer support centres will start with a Pink Party on Wednesday (October 29).
Nicola Jane, Chichester, has teamed up with breast cancer charity, The Haven, in a bid to raise funds and awareness for the forthcoming Wessex Haven Centre, in Titchfield.
As part of the partnership, Nicola Jane staff will be holding a series of fundraising events with their customers to help raise the £1.1m target set by the Haven for the centre restoration and first two years of running costs.
The first of these events will be a Pink Party at the shop, 7 City Business Centre, Basin Road, from 4pm to 7pm.
Customers will have the chance to enjoy a glass of pink bubbly while exclusively previewing items from the upcoming autumn sale.
There will also be the chance to discuss plans for the new centre and how to get involved with fundraising with Heidi Rehman, The Haven’s community fundraiser.
Ten per cent of all sales taken during the event will go to the Haven Wessex Appeal.
The Haven helps hundreds of people who have been affected by breast cancer.
It offers free services including emotional support, complementary therapies, healthy eating, exercise and stress reduction techniques, not only for the person diagnosed but also for close friends and family.
The new Wessex Centre, set to open in the summer of 2015, will be the fourth UK centre.
Nicola Jane specialises in mastectomy lingerie and swimwear to help restore confidence after breast cancer.
Staff at the shop have been holding a series of events throughout October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
In addition to the Pink Party, Nicola Jane nominated its Berry Vest Top as the October Haven Top, with ten per cent of all the top’s sales throughout October going to the Haven.
