Police appeal after Selsey assault

POLICE are appealing for two motorists to come forward after they came to the aid of a woman who was attacked in Selsey.

The incident happened at about 7.30pm on Monday, August 19, in Beach Road as the 40-year-old victim, who lives in Selsey, walked along with her two young children. She was approached by the man who attempted to push her.

Sussex Police published the appeal today.

A spokesperson said: “Fortunately the victim was uninjured but this was a very frightening experience both for her and her young children who witnessed the incident.

“We’re keen to trace anyone who saw what happened, and would particularly like to speak to two motorists who stopped at the time to help the victim.

“The offender is described as white, aged about 40, with shoulder length hair and an English accent.

“Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting serial 0873 of 19/08 or email contact.centre@sussex.pnn.police.uk.

Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
