A NEW bid for housing opposite a primary school has been submitted to the district council.
An application for 25 new homes at the southern end of School Lane, immediately opposite North Mundham Primary School, is set to be considered by councillors later this year.
A previous application for 15 homes on the site was withdrawn last year.
The new application, number 13/01036/OUT, is for a mixture of houses and flats.
It includes one two-bedroom bungalow, one three-bedroom bungalow, two two-bedroom flats, two one-bedroom flats, six three-bedroom semi-detached houses, six two-bedroom terraced houses, five three-bedroom terraced houses and two four-bedroom detached houses.
Ten of the above will be social housing. The scheme also includes 42 parking spaces and each home will have its own garden.
Objecting to the plans, resident Ann Harris said they were ‘virtually a repeat’ of those submitted and withdrawn last year.
She described the density as ‘undesirable’ and raised concerns about road access.
Fellow objector Nita Fisher raised concerns about the site’s proximity to the school.
