Plans for Selsey flats get the green light

OPPOSITION from Selsey Town Council failed to block proposals to convert a ground floor restaurant in the town’s High Street into two self-contained flats.

The town council claimed the property should be a retail outlet, because of its position.

But Chichester District Council’s southern area development control committee came down in favour of the scheme, although it delegated a final decision to officers because the expiry of a notification relating to ownership of an adjacent public right of way was still awaited.

Voting was 12-1 in favour.

A decision on an application for listed building consent was also delegated.
