Rapper to stand trial over rape allegation in Chichester

Rapper and former I’m A Celebrity star Aggro Santos has pleaded not guilty to two counts of rape, one of which occurred in Chichester.

The Brazilian-born rapper, aged 23, is charged with raping one woman at the Ship Hotel in North Street, on May 7, 2011 and another in Yeovil, Somerset, between September 24 and 27 in 2010.

Another man, 21-year-old Tyrelle Ritchie, faces one count of rape in Chichester on the same date.

Santos, who appeared under his real name Yuri Santos, of Bickersteth Road, Tooting, south west London, and Ritchie, of Vauxhall Street, Lambeth, south east London, both denied the charges at a plea and case management hearing at Chichester Crown Court, today,Thursday, January 5.

Dressed in a black shirt, white tie and waistcoat and with his braided hair tied back into a ponytail, Santos listened as Judge Claudia Ackner told him and Ritchie that they will stand trial on August 13 before granting them conditional bail.

Santos’s debut single, Candy, featuring former Pussycat Dolls singer Kimberly Wyatt, shot to number five in the UK charts in 2010.

But he became more popularly known by his appearance in the 2010 series of ITV’s reality game show I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in which he reached the final six.
