Residents asked to give generously to Chichester’s Macmillan cancer world coffee day event

RESIDENTS are being asked to do their bit in supporting the Macmillan Cancer world’s largest coffee morning this week.

There will be an event at St.Richard’s Lodge, Spitalfield Lane, Chichester on Wednesday, September 28 to offer vital assistance for the annual fundraiser.

The lounge of the Churchill Retirement Living complex will be open to visitors, who will have the chance to view its show apartments and landscaped grounds. It is open between 10.30am and noon.

Spencer McCarthy, of Churchill Retirement Living welcomed the event.

He said: “Macmillan Cancer Support is an extremely worthy charity. Cancer affects so many of us with 1 in 3 suffering from this disease at some point in our lives. We are proud to be supporting this charity and will do everything we can to raise much needed funds.”

Katie Blake, fundraising manager for Macmillan Cancer Support added: “We are here to improve the lives of anyone affected by cancer – people who have cancer, their carers, families and friends. Because more and more people are living with cancer every day, our work is needed more than ever. That’s why we need people like Churchill Retirement Living to support us and we are extremely grateful for their pro-active approach to their campaign!”
