AN iconic luck symbol has returned to the streets of Chichester.

The wishbone underneath the clock on the old Shippams paste factory in East Street has been restored, and the clock mechanism repaired.

The wishbone had been missing for many months after falling off, but in the past few weeks it has been restored.

The wishbone has been synonymous with the building that was once home to the famous chicken and fish paste factory, which is now on the Terminus Road industrial estate.

It holds great sentimental value to the former workers who regard it as a good luck symbol.
