RESCUE dog Rolo raised nearly £500 when he took part in a 10k run.

The two-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier took part in the Lodge Hill, in Watersfield, fun run and raised £490 for his care at RSPCA Mount Noddy.

Rolo was rescued from mistreatment more than nine months ago and has now been at the kennels for longer than any other dog.

Zoe Bull, volunteer co-ordinator for the centre, said: “What an utter champion! Rolo is such a special dog and he was definitely treated like royalty at Lodge Hill.

“Thank you everybody who sponsored him, we were just under our target at £490 but we were amazed to get this much.

“Mostly thank you Rolo. You are such an amazing dog and although we have not found your forever home yet, we will not give up. You really deserve a new start and you have made us so, so proud today.”
