EXCITEMENT is mounting as traders prepare once again to celebrate the success of Selsey businesses.

Nominations opened on Saturday (November 1) for the third year of the Selsey business awards, run by the Selsey Business Partnership.

Roger Barrow, chairman of the partnership, said he was delighted Selsey-based company Checkatrade was the awards’ main sponsor.

“A huge number of small, vibrant businesses reside in Selsey and it is a great place to trade,” he said.

“Selsey Business Partnership is delighted to be supported by an established and innovative company like Checkatrade whose reputation is an example for other local businesses to follow.”

Kevin Byrne, founder and managing director of Checkatrade, said: “All my businesses started in Selsey and still operate here.

“Selsey has a very special place in my heart so it is an absolute pleasure to get behind and support these fantastic awards that are just for Selsey businesses.”

Last year’s winners included The Liquid Merchant, with Theresa Bulic walking away on the night with awards for best new business and the best of the best.

Members of the public were urged not to let their favourite business miss out on an opportunity to
win an award and be recognised, and to get nominating as soon as possible.

The awards ceremony will take place at Solent View, Bunn Leisure on February 28, 2015, at a gala dinner.

Full details on award categories and how to enter can be found online at www.selseybusinesspartnership.co.uk where business owners and their customers or employees can also submit nominations online and be entered for a prize draw.
