Selsey man charged with 12 child sex offences

SUSSEX Police has charged a Selsey man with making indecent images of children and inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity.

Mark Sorensen, 50, of Harcourt Way, Selsey, appeared at Chichester Magistrates’ Court on June 24, charged with 12 child sex offences.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “He is charged with attempting to incite a girl aged 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity in 2013, with arranging/facilitating the commission of a child sex offence between 2011 and 2013, and with ten offences of making indecent images of children during the period 2010 to 2013.”

The spokesman added Sorensen had not entered a plea and the case was committed to Chichester Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing on September 5.

The prosecution, authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service, follows an investigation by detectives from West Sussex CID.

The spokesman added: “The prosecution does not allege that any local children are involved in the charges, or are at risk in any other way.”
