Sergeant Major honoured at Sussex awards ceremony

A SERGEANT Major Instructor has been honoured for his work with the Sussex Army Cadet Force.

Stephen Arnell was one of 20 members of the reserve forces and cadet movements honoured at a reception by Lord-Lieutenant of East Sussex Peter Field and Lord-Lieutenant of West Sussex Susan Pyper.

Members of all three services were presented with medals, certificates and promotions in recognition of their dedicated service. In addition, four businesses were presented with certificates in acknowledgment of their support of the reserve forces.

Stephen, 43, a works manager has served with Chichester Detachment Sussex Army Cadet Force for 12 years.

He was awarded the Lord-Lieutenant of West Sussex’s Meritorious Certificate in recognition of his outstanding loyalty, dedication and commitment to the cadet movement.

Dignitaries from across the county joined the Lord-Lieutenants for the ceremony, held at the Brighton TA Centre, also attended by family and friends of those receiving awards.
