THE COUNTY’S new police and crime commissioner, Katy Bourne, is inviting residents to meet her and have their say on the policing and crime issues that matter most to them.
She will be taking part in a live Facebook chat on Friday, January 25, on the Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner Facebook page. Participants will be able to ask questions about the policy priorities and local objectives set out in the draft police and crime plan.
Then on Thursday, February 28, Mrs Bourne will attend a meeting of the Southbourne Neighbourhood Management Panel at St John’s Church in Southbourne, joining police and residents to discuss priority policing and crime issues in the area and how they are dealt with.
As well as discussing local issues and concerns, residents will have an opportunity to talk about her policy priorities and local objectives, approved by the police and crime panel this month and available at www.sussex-pcc.gov.uk

Mrs Bourne said: “I want residents to know I am an accessible commissioner and a strong voice for local people in the fight against crime. I want residents to tell me their priorities – what matters to them and what I can do to make people feel Safer in Sussex.
“I will be attending several events across the county so I can meet as many local people as possible.
“I will also be hosting a Live Chat on Facebook on Friday, January 25, from midday to 1.30pm, where I will be answering questions from the public and discussing my strategies for policing and crime in the county.
