AN animal rescue centre needs donations after its van broke down - putting a halt to rescues.

Irene Clarke, from Old Gardens Animal Rescue Centre, in Sidlesham, has had to stop rescuing animals after the centre’s van broke down last week.

“We have to get hay, straw and animal feed and we’ve got about 2,000 animals here so we’re struggling like mad.

“We won’t be able to do more rescues until we can get a van.”

Irene said she has tried rescuing animal using her car but she cannot continue to do so.

The centre needs about £17,000. Send cash or a cheque to the Old Gardens Animal Rescue Centre, Highleigh Road, Sidlesham, West Sussex, PO20 7NN.
