A FIRM which tried to get a planning decision overturned has had its appeal thrown out by an inspector.
Targa Floria cars had applied for planning permission in April last year to sell cars over the internet from the units at Walnut Farm Science Park in Lockgate Road, Sidlesham, but its bid was denied.
In January Chichester District Council issued an enforcement notice calling on the business to stop selling cars from the building, and to clear out the vehicles there.
The car company appealed against the notice, but last week a planning inspector upheld the local authority’s decision.
Considering the case, Andrew Hammond noted concerns that even if conditions were placed on any planning permission granted, it couldn’t restrict the number of customers or flow of vehicles to the site, which is in a rural area.
