A SOLAR farm at Sidlesham has been given planning permission and another is in the pipeline.
Permission for the site on Baker’s Farm was given by Chichester District Council on October 6.
Since then residents have also been shown plans for a proposed 50-acre solar farm on land at Strettington.
Solafields has planned a £12m project to build a site large enough to power about 3,000 homes every year on land to the north of the A27 between Westhampnett and Tangmere.
This is the third solar farm Solafields has planned for Chichester after a site opened in Oving in 2012.
Mark Candlish, director of Solafields, said: “There’s very little noise from a solar farm.
Mark added that the community would benefit from Solafields’ Community Benefit Fund, which awards grants of up to £10,000 for local projects.
