Snow threat for rail passengers

RAIL users across the Observer area could face changes to services as snow threatens to disrupt the county.

The latest weather forecast for tomorrow (January 18) suggests significant snowfall across many parts of the Southern network.

To help combat any disruption Southern Rail will be operating an amended timetable.

Trains will not split or join at Haywards Heath or Horsham stations, and will mean passengers who travel on the East and West Coastways in and out of London may be affected.

Passengers are advised to check www.southernrailway.com/ for the latest changes before travelling.

The Met Office has issued an amber alert for snow in West Sussex tomorrow.

The alert begins at 3am tomorrow and ends at 9pm.

A yellow alert for snow is valid from 12.05am on Saturday (January 19) to midday on Sunday (January 20).
