Songbirds raise money for hospice

The Brick Kiln Nursery and Garden Centre in Chichester played host to St Wilfrid's Choir and the Donnington and Apuldram Supporter Group, to help raise funds for the hospice's vital work in the community.

The choir is made up entirely of hospice staff and volunteers, led by choirmaster Lesley Oldham, and meets to rehearse once a week.

It performs at hospice events, including the Christmas concert and at the volunteers’ party, but the event at Brick Kiln was one of its first public performances.

The choir performed a selection of old favourites from the Sound of Music as well as some much-loved Abba classics in the beautiful Garden Café, which was full to the brim. Everyone sang along and a great time was had by all.

In just a few short hours, the event raised a total of £338, thanks also to the bric-a brac stall manned by the supporter group.
