A NEW water fountain was installed in the garden of a Southbourne care home to celebrate the fifth anniversary of its opening.

Bosham-based Geoff’s Garden Ornaments, which specialises in water features, kindly donated half the funds needed for the new water feature at Glebe House Care Home in Stein Road.

Staff said the fountain increased the wellbeing of residents by making their daily walks more exciting.

It also encouraged them to spend time outside in the gardens of the home, which have been made more tranquil by the new addition.

The sound of the water has even helped one woman get to sleep at night.

Manager Melanie Taylor said residents loved the stone fountain.

“If my residents are happy, then I’m happy,” she said.

As well as the new fountain residents also enjoyed a party to mark the event.
