THERE’s only one direction to go for supporters of Tuppenny Barn Organics in Southbourne.

In July the successful smallholding will be holding a sponsored cycle ride and family day at Goodwood Motor Circuit to raise money for its landmark straw bale education building. The event was the idea of Martin Hopper, a keen cyclist and a trustee of Tuppenny Barn, founded by Maggie Haynes.

The ride, on Sunday, July 29, will involve people cycling 2.4 miles - the number of acres at Tuppenny Barn and also the distance of the track at Goodwood. There will be various children’s activities and a range of eco-themed stalls plus electric car and bikes.

Mr Hopper said: “People like to ride around the circuit because it’s quite an iconic place.

“We thought we’d have a go ourselves, particularly as it’s a very safe environment for families.”

For more information and to get involved with the ride see www.tuppennybarn.com or call 07977 536684.
