PUPILS have been gearing up for a sponsored walk for a good cause.
Chidham Parochial Primary School has been holding a week of activities to raise money for Chichester-based charity Children on the Edge.
One class even walked six miles to Chichester to help support the charity.
Claire Murphy, headteacher, said: “They were all wearing as bright a colour as possible and they carried water and collected litter.
“They collected big binbags of litter.
“It was absolutely lovely.
“Overall we have raised several hundred pounds for the charity.”
The pupils were given a lift back to school by Stagecoach.
Every class has been involved in fundraising activities which have included a Mad Hatter’s tea party.
Children on the Edge is a charity which helps to return the childhoods of forgotten children around the world.
Miss Murphy said: “The charity is really important to us. The school chose to support it. “They have come in to help us understand the work they have done.
“It has all come from one visit.”
