PRAISING St Richard’s Hospital, 77-year-old Barry Shears from Chichester wants to thank ‘excellent’ staff, for making his unexpected stay comfortable.
He said with all the bad press hospitals have had recently, he wanted to highlight the ‘super’ service he received at St Richard’s.
He was admitted to hospital on Sunday, January 19, as he was in a lot of pain.
“They wheeled me off to Brighton to make sure it wasn’t an aneurysm,” he said.
It turned out he had a stone in his gall bladder, so he was taken back to St Richard’s for an operation.
He said he waited just one day for the surgery, and the problem was solved – he went home on Wednesday, and has been well ever since.
“It was all over in an hour,” he said.
“All the staff, the nurses, ambulance staff, doctors, they were all wonderful.
“They really make you feel like you’re in good hands.
“They fed me well, it is like the Ritz!
“It is a super hospital. They deserve the recognition.”
