TODAY’S national NHS worker strike caused ‘minimal disruption’ to hospital services at St Richard’s in Chichester.

A handful of workers went on strike outside the hospital between 7am and 11am, joining thousands around the country in protesting over the government’s refusal to hand them a 1 per cent pay increase.

“Our hospital services proceeded as normal this morning, including appointments, clinics and operations,” said Denise Farmer, director of organisational development and leadership.

“We have worked closely with our staff and unions to ensure the safety of our patients remained paramount and that they experienced minimal disruption.”
