Sussex Police is appealing to anyone who might have lost a long ladder.

“Officers arrested a 26-year-old man in West Pallant, Chichester, at 12.30am on Saturday, November 9, and seized an extension ladder he was carrying,” said a spokesperson for Sussex Police.

PC Katherine Chuter said: “The man was seen carrying the ladder in Tower Street in the city earlier but it is not yet known where the ladder was taken from.

“If the ladder is yours please contact us as we’d like to reunite it with its owner.”

The 26-year-old, from Chichester, was questioned on suspicion of theft before being released on bail until November 21, while officers carry out further inquiries.
