A HARD-WORKING mother who turned her passion for catering into a business has been nominated for a Woman of the Year Award.
Dianne Dudley, from Newhaven, has been put forward in the Success Story category for her Easy Dine catering business which delivers meals to the elderly and housebound.
She has battled health problems and redundancy – and now also caters for weddings, funerals, birthdays and running a weekly pastry day.
“I am very surprised to receive this nomination, but very grateful to be recognised,” said Dianne.
“My aim is to keep going as long as my health lets me, and keep providing a good healthy homemade meal for my lovely customers.”
Dianne also devotes her time to entertaining two sons and her daughter-in-law, as well as looking after two dogs and helping people out with catering at short notice.
“She works extremely hard and is an inspiration to others because she has the courage to do it,” said the person who nominated Dianne.
Dianne was awarded five stars by a food standards inspector and has had her business period extended following an exam and interview which she passed with flying colours.
“After receiving my five stars from the Food Standards Agency, it opened up many challenges”, said Dianne.
“I am now also catering for functions and have two weddings and a 70th birthday booked in the coming months.”
