FIREFIGHTERS had to help the RSPCA release a trapped swan on Sunday afternoon (September 20).

The bird was entangled in a fishing line in the lake at the Chichester Lakeside holiday park.

The swan was brought to dry land by the technical rescue unit using a rescue path. The bird was released and left in the care of RSPCA officers, said the fire brigade.

Chichester Lakeside is off Vinnetrow Road, in Runcton.

The fire service was at the scene from 1.46pm until 3.04pm.
