Thousands raised for Selsey and Hayling Island RNLI stations

SUPPORTERS of the RNLI have thanked residents and holiday makers who donated to two lifeboat stations this summer.

The Manhood branch of the charity held several events and collections this summer to raise money for the stations at Selsey and Hayling Island.

On July 22, a collection in West Wittering Estate car park raised £1,680.82. Organisers thanked Premier Motorhomes for the use of one of their homes for the day.

Saturday, August 18, to Saturday, August 25, was National Flag Week for the RNLI and again the stations benefitted from generous supporters.

House collections were made in East Wittering and Birdham, with street collections made in East Wittering, West Wittering, Bracklesham Bay, Itchenor and Birdham Stores.

A total of £2,424 was donated during the week.
