A NEW primary school head teacher has said she is ‘thrilled’ to be warmly welcomed into her new role.

Mandy Sadler has been appointed the new head teacher at Jessie Younghusband School (JYS), in Woodlands Lane.

She said she was proud to be appointed to lead the ‘outstanding’ school on to even further success building on the school’s achievements over the last few years.

“I am absolutely thrilled to have been appointed as the head teacher at Jessie Younghusband School,” said Mrs Sadler.

“I have had such a warm welcome from the whole school community. It is the wonderful caring ethos and the emphasis on high standards, as well as the broad range of opportunities available to the children here, that makes this school so unique.”

Martin Tomlinson, the chair of governors, said: “The school is very fortunate to have appointed such an experienced head teacher to further develop the high standards at JYS. We look forward to an exciting new chapter in the JYS journey.”

The school, which is named after a local resident of Chichester who became well known for her work with Chichester schools during the 1950s, will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year.

Everyone from the school and local community will be invited to the celebrations.
