Lavant pupil to feature in anthology

A BOARDING school pupil was thrilled to hear her poem, Old Eyes, is to be included in an anthology of poetry.

Rhiannon Phelps, 14, will be featured in Through the Eyes of a Poet, published by United Press. “I’ve been writing poetry for a few years now and have had a few poems published online but this is the first time I will see my work in print,” said Rhiannon. “The poem was inspired by a film that I saw about some elderly people; it really got me thinking about my own family.”

Kate Bartholomew, headmistress at Lavant House, said: “We are very pleased for Rhiannon, her work is creative and she obviously has a flair for words.”
