FOUR teenagers were taken to hospital after a crash on the A285 at Halnaker last night (Tuesday, October 30).

At around 9pm, a southbound silver Ford Fiesta, carrying four people, left the road just north of Halnaker and crashed with a tree.

The driver of the car, an 18-year-old woman from Chichester, received minor injuries and was taken to St Richard’s Hospital, in Chichester.

Two passengers, an 18-year-old man from Chichester and a 17-year-old girl also from Chichester, received serious injuries as a result of the crash.

They were both taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital for treatment where they remain today (Wednesday, October 31).

The third passenger, a 16-year-old boy from Chichester, received minor injuries and was also taken to St Richards Hospital.

The A285 was closed in both directions until 2am while police carried out an investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone with information is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting Operat Assist or by emailing collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk.
