FLOOD warnings have been announced for coastal areas of the Manhood Peninsula this morning (October 28).
The Environment Agency said: “A large storm is expected to affect the Sussex coast during the early hours of Monday morning through to rush hour.
“The wind is likely to bring large waves meaning a risk of water overtopping sea defences.
“The greatest impacts are likely to be seen between 4am and 8am. We expect that localised flooding may affect properties closest to the beach.”
It is not yet clear whether any properties have been affected by the storm, but Chichester District Council set up a shelter for Selsey residents who had to abandon their homes last night.
