A CHICHESTER environmental group is hoping to have a high-street presence to help raise awareness of green issues.
Transition Chichester is currently looking into creating a home in the city where people can drop in and find out information on green issues, browse its green library and talk to like-minded people.
Members are considering a number of options including setting up in an empty shop pop-up style so it can be easily moved from one location to another.
The organisation now numbers around 500 people and as part of its development the group has also decided to become a company limited by guarantee with a board of trustees to oversee its affairs.
Its next move will be to apply to become a registered charity to help enhance its status and encourage people to come forward with more funds to support its huge range of projects.
See www.transitionchichester.org for more information about the group’s forthcoming events and projects.
