Tributes have been paid to a detective found murdered at some woods near Lurgashall.
The funeral of Det Con Heather Cooper, who was found dead at Blackdown Woods on October 16 this year, was held at York Minster.
During the funeral service she was described as a ‘super mum’.
The 33-year-old joined Surrey Police in 2003 and moved to CID before specialising in investigating domestic abuse. She had a three-year-old son and a three-month-old girl.
Miss Cooper, who grew up in York, was on maternity leave at the time of her death. It has been revealed she was killed by a blow to the head and a stab wound to the throat.
Her partner, 35-year-old Peter Foster from Haslemere in Surrey, has been charged with her murder.
A memorial service to celebrate Miss Cooper’s life will also be held for friends and work colleagues at Guildford Cathedral on November 29.
