A WOMAN has been charged after her dog attacked a three-year-old on Monday (June 17).
A Sussex Police spokesman said Kirsty Borthwick, 42, of Albert Road, Fishbourne, has been arrested, interviewed and charged with the offence of ‘being the owner of a dog allowing it to be dangerously out of control in a public place causing injury’.
This comes after a three-year-old and her mother were attacked in the underpass in Fishbourne on Monday afternoon, and both were left with serious injuries.
The dog, an American bulldog, bit the girls face and attacked her mother. The dog has now been put down.
Borthwick has been bailed and will appear at Worthing Magistrates’ Court on July 9.
The mum and daughter have been discharged from St Richard’s Hospital.
