UPDATE: Man from Hunston died in Shripney crash

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Shripney where a man died.

The 67-year-old man from Hunston who was driving a Reliant Robin, sadly died at the scene.

The collision happened at 12.55pm yesterday (Tuesday, October 21) just north of the Robin Hood public house, close to Lidsey Caravan Park, on the A29 Lidsey Road.

The two cars involved, a red Nissan Primera and the Reliant Robin, collided head on.

The driver of the Nissan, a 65-year-old man from Chichester, was taken to St Richard’s Hospital with serious injuries.

Sergeant Tony Crisp said: “The 67-year-old man sadly died of multiple injuries, not a heart attack.

“We are appealing to anyone who was driving along the road at the time and saw what happened to please get in contact on collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting Op Claygate.

“Members of public are thanked for their patience while the road was closed.”
