UPDATE: Police bail Selsey rape suspects

TWO people quizzed by detectives over an alleged rape of a teenage girl have been bailed.

A 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old youth were arrested on suspicion of rape yesterday (July 29) after a teenage girl told her family she was assaulted in a tent pitched on the recreation ground in Hillfield Road, Selsey.

Police announced this lunchtime (July 30) the pair have been released on bail until September 22.

The older person’s age was incorrectly given as 21 by police yesterday.

Anyone with information was asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting serial 155 of July 29.

Alternatively people can call independent charity Crimestoppers without having to leave their name on 0800 555 111.
