The B2145 in Selsey has reopened after two cars collided outside Comptons Farm Shop.
Sussex Police were on the scene of the accident, along with ambulance and fire crews.
It is understood the motorists only suffered slight injuries.
Drivers heading to Selsey reported eight-mile tailbacks earlier today (Thursday, July 11) but the road has now reopened.
Local triathlete Dan Bailey contacted the Observer on Twitter to confirm traffic was freeflowing at 4.40pm.
