There are reports that the couple who died in Whyke Marsh earlier this month may have been linked to a historic sexual offence case against a child.
The couple, Chris Rivers, 44, and Alphira Rivers, 27, were found dead in their home on November 8, and police said although the deaths were unexplained, they were not being treated as suspicious,
An inquest date has not been set by the Coroners Office, as they are awaiting the results of further toxicology tests to establish the full circumstances of the couples death.
The pair lived in Whyke Marsh for just over a year before their deaths – it is believed the charges they faced took place in Haywards Heath where they lived before they moved to the area.
A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: “A man and woman, aged 44 and 27, were being investigated for historic sexual offences against a child and had been due to answer bail on Crawley police station on Friday, 16 November.”
